Last November, we had the opportunity to take part in the first edition of SEDEXPO 2022, the 1st International Security, Defence and Emergency Fair, held at the Feira Internacional de Galicia ABANCA exhibition centre.
Its aim was to promote security and defence culture and to create an opportunity for companies, organisations and professionals to meet.
Sedexpo offered a comprehensive programme of activities, delivered by hundreds of experts. Topics of great interest were addressed, including, for example, Spain’s concept and strategy for national security, hybrid threats and cybersecurity.
The exhibitions and workshops provided a practical overview of the work carried out by professionals in the sector.
AVSEC360 was present with an exhibition stand as the official distributor of X-BAG U.S. CORP, the advanced X-ray simulator for training security personnel at airports, ports and other critical infrastructure.
The conclusions drawn by both participating companies and professionals, and by the organisers, were positive. Therefore, the date of the next edition of the event will be considered in the near future.
AVSEC360 also values the experience positively, as it enabled us to connect with industry professionals and learn about their concerns and aspirations regarding the resources needed to enhance training for security-sector personnel.
The knowledge gained has further reinforced the objectives pursued by the X-BAG simulator, namely:
- To improve the knowledge of security operators and everyone who works with X-ray equipment.
- To test a wide range of potentially threatening situations.
- To recreate an operational context as close to reality as possible.
